Trahan Architects was founded in 1992 by Trey Trahan. The firm is intimate in size but broad in its scope. Bringing together a diverse talent pool around a single shared table, our company is built on open, ongoing conversation. We engage in a collective questioning of how our process and work can contribute to the health of our ecologies, cities and economies. Each member of the Trahan team is an integral part of a collaborative process that enriches our company culture and improves the quality of our work.
“I think that more often than not we discover where we’re going when we get there. So long as we remain observant and do our best, we’ll be ok.”
Kim joined Trahan Architects full-time in 2012 and received her architectural license within two years of professional experience. Deeply involved in complex projects early in her career such as the Owensboro-Daviess County Convention Center, Jung Hotel Renovation, Corporate Two Office Tower Renovation, Creole Town Homes, Mercedes-Benz Superdome Endzone Video Boards and 400 Level Suite Renovations, Kim continues to develop a well-rounded skill set as an architect. Her dexterity with various software and growing understanding of building systems has been advantageous to many projects with design complexity and challenging schedules. She currently a project leader on the Interpretive Center at Hilltop Arboretum and the Aurora Event Center.
Outside of work, Kim maintains a strong curiosity for how things work and interconnect. She engages in DIY activities, is skilled at cutting hair, mending clothes, and repairing broken electrical appliances. She also enjoys Calvin & Hobbes, Sherlock Holmes and reading fiction. She is also known to ponder the smallness of human existence over physics-related discourse.
