Bringing together a diverse pool of talent around a single shared table, our company is built on open, ongoing conversation. Founded in 1992 by Trey Trahan, the firm is intimate in size but broad in its scope. We engage in a collective questioning of how our process and work can contribute to the health of our ecologies, cities and economies. Each member of the Trahan team is an integral part of a collaborative process that enriches our company culture and improves the quality of our work.
David joined Trahan Architects as a designer in 2019. He earned dual undergraduate degrees in architecture and philosophy from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was awarded the Oglesby Traveling Fellowship. The fellowship enabled him to study light and atmosphere in Cistercian monasteries across southern France.
Following graduation from the University of Texas, David was the inaugural Architectural Teaching Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico. For his teaching and research, David was awarded the 2016 Lecturer or Affiliated Teacher of the Year award from the University of New Mexico.
