Bringing together a diverse pool of talent around a single shared table, our company is built on open, ongoing conversation. Founded in 1992 by Trey Trahan, the firm is intimate in size but broad in its scope. We engage in a collective questioning of how our process and work can contribute to the health of our ecologies, cities and economies. Each member of the Trahan team is an integral part of a collaborative process that enriches our company culture and improves the quality of our work.
A native of Louisiana, James received his Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University and participated in an international program in Rome, Italy. Along with a passion for architectural representation, he is excited to be working on projects that are innovative and challenging.
Prior to re-joining Trahan Architects, James worked at the acclaimed office of Bjarke Ingels Group in New York and previously interned at offices in Louisiana and Pennsylvania where he has gained experience with a variety of different project types and sizes. As a research assistant at the LSU Coastal Sustainability Studio, James investigated the use of compressed earth brick prototypes as a design and construction solution for low-income housing in South Louisiana.
James enjoys travelling, Italian food, playing classical guitar, biking, skiing, tennis, and anything LSU sports related.
