Marketing + Communications Specialist

We are looking for a professional, full-time Marketing + Communications Specialist to join our team in our New York office. The position offers the opportunity to engage in challenging work within an award-winning, collaborative practice in search of design excellence.

The right candidate will work in collaboration with firm leadership to develop and implement marketing strategies to elevate the firm’s global profile.  They will execute all aspects of marketing for the firm, including proposal writing and production as well as materials and systems management.  They will coordinate with firm leadership to execute and oversee ongoing studio-wide public relations and visibility building. This role is intended for someone looking for a long-term position with future growth into Manager and Director tiers as the firm continues to grow and invest in our marketing processes.

Marketing:

Responsible for the design, production, and execution of all marketing campaigns such as RFQ/RFP proposal responses, firm brochures, and new business meeting collateral needs across the New Orleans and New York offices. This includes:

    • Implementing and maintaining firm-wide graphic standards and visual identity across all mediums and platforms.
    • Maintaining marketing systems and updating them as needed to optimize the efficiency of marketing processes.
    • Organize and execute internal processes to achieve deadline driven activities such as RFQs/RFPs or emergent and time sensitive meetings.
    • Represent the firm at pre-proposal meetings, when required, and potentially travel as needed to support wider marketing goals.
    • Be the conduit between outside entities and future clients as well as the internal Trahan Architects team to ensure professional responsiveness to all new business queries
    • Assist with or perform proposal-specific background research. Ability to turn research into compelling visual and written content.
    • Identify and submit for awards programs. Maintain a calander and track costs associated with pursuing awards while developing internal processes to maximize awards production.

Communications:

Responsible for the design, production, and/or maintenance of various communications channels such as academic and professional lecture collateral, news and media queries, social media activities (Instagram, LinkedIn), the Trahan Architects website, and a recurring series of Mail Chimp newsletters. These activities will support both the New Orleans and New York offices. This includes:

  • Working with firm leadership to create and execute lecture collateral.
  • Interface with outside media outlets to satisfy any press related inquiries for content. Schedule and organize any meetings needed with outside media outlets and necessary firm representatives.
  • Maintain and execute a regular cadence of updates across Instagram (Stories, Reels, Feed posts) and LinkedIn. Ensure timely updates are shared in coordination with office calander so that our news and events see the greatest exposure within our network. Tone and tenor of social media should reflect the unique identity of Trahan Architects.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain firm Website updates. This includes graphical and written content updates for new projects, news, and other content areas. Interface with design staff as needed to best showcase the firm’s work and evolving highlights.
  • Maintain and execute our Mail Chimp account including creation and execution of campaigns and regular updating of contacts database.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (or equivalent) with architectural training or degree a plus
  • Strong mastery of visual graphics
  • Technical and poetic mastery of written language
  • Evidence of strong interest in/knowledge of/critical thinking about architectural design of the caliber of Trahan Architects
  • Evidence of work within a marketing team, including coordination and collaboration with graphic and architectural staff.
  • Strong design talent with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills that can help connect the dots across the domains of design, media, and new business development
  • Strong, positive references

Compensation and Benefits:

  • We offer a competitive compensation package including SIMPLE IRA plan, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick time, and work from home flexibility.
  • Annual salary range will be commensurate to experience, with an anticipated range between $75,000-$90,000.
